Items in square brackets [Button] are on screen buttons that can pressed. For example, you can press the [OK] button in the dialog below.

'Menu | sub menu' denotes a menu selection you can choose. For example, 'Tools | Rebuild Database' represents the 'Rebuild Database' menu selection in the 'Tools' menu below.
